  • This problem is typically caused by the NVIDIA Telemetry Container, which can be disabled and prevented from starting.

Fix NVIDIA Container High CPU Usage on Windows 11/10

There are some instances where the NVIDIA Container application on Windows 11/10 displays high CPU usage. This can be very frustrating, especially if you’re trying to play a game.

If you’re experiencing this problem, here’s what you need to do!

1] Download and install older NVIDIA drivers

Most of the users who experienced this issue have recently updated their graphics drivers. It is apparent that something is simply not right with the newly updated driver and thus, which leads to the process consuming more resources than it should.

If you find yourself in that situation, you should roll back to the previous working version and wait for NVIDIA to release a new update.

  • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager from the menu list.
  • Go to the “Display adapters” section and expand it.

Uninstall Display adapters

  • Right-click on your graphics card and click Uninstall device.
  • Confirm any prompts asking you to start the uninstallation process.
  • Let the process finish now.
  • Now go to the NVIDIA Official Download Page and look for your graphics card driver.
  • Fill out the required information about the card and your operating system.
  • Then click on Search.
  • Here you should see all the available drivers listed. Therefore, keep scrolling until you find the correct entry.
  • After you have found it, click its name, then hit the Download button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions in order to install it on your computer.
  • You can now check if nvidiacontainer.exe continues to show high CPU usage.

2] Uninstall GeForce Experience

It has been reported that some users were able to resolve the NVIDIA Container high CPU usage problem just by uninstalling GeForce Experience. To do so, follow these steps.

  • Click on the Start button, search for Settings, and then press Enter.
  • Navigate to Apps > Apps and Features to open the list of installed apps on your device.
  • From the list, search for the GeForce Experience option.
  • Click on the three dots next to it and then select the Uninstall button.
  • Click Uninstall once again to confirm and then follow the on-screen instructions.
  • After uninstalling GeForce Experience, restart your computer.
