July 2023 Patch Tuesday is here and with this, there comes security updates for all versions of Windows 11 and 10. If you are on Windows 10 version 1607, you should download and install the KB5028169 update on your PC. This is a security update and it upgrades the existing OS Build to 14393.6085.
Microsoft has brought several new fixes to Microsoft Edge IE mode. After installing this update, your device gets to have these improvements –
- The text on the status bar will now be always visible.
- Pop-up windows will now open in the foreground instead of opening in the background.
- The transitioning out of IE mode works exactly as it should.

With this update, you get the following features and improvements on your Windows 10, version 1607 PC –
- New: Improves several simplified Chinese fonts and the Microsoft Pinyin Input Method Editor (IME). From now onward, the input method editors support GB18030-2022.
- Improves the reliability of Desktop Windows Manager (DWM), which was affected by the previous cumulative update.
- Previously, when you do not rename the local temporary user policy file during Group Policy processing, an error occurs. This error was known to affect all the registry settings under the Policies paths. Some might even get deleted due to this issue. KB5028169 resolves this issue as well.
