1] Adjust the system date and time
Many applications of the system check the system for certificates. The correct system date is Mandatory for reading the certifications. If the system date is incorrect, the applications will consider the certificates as obsolete. So the first check would be checking and fixing the system date before anything else. Fix the data as follow.
- Open Settings app using Windows + I shortcut keys.
- Select Time & Language > Date & time.
- Verify your time zone and click on the Sync now button. This will synchronize your clock with the internet time server.
2] Disable the proxy
Sometimes the proxy settings prevent the system from connecting to the network. Remove the proxy settings as follows:
- Click on the Start and then select a gear icon of Settings.
- Then select Network & Internet > Proxy.
- Go to Manual proxy setup and then turn the switch OFF for ‘Use a proxy server’.
- Once the Proxy is disabled, restart your system and try to access the Windows Store now.
3] Run Store Apps troubleshooter
Another possible step you can use to fix error 0x80072F05 by running the Windows Store troubleshooter. The procedure is as follows:
- Open Settings apps using Windows+I keys.
- Select the Update & Security section.
- Then click on the Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Check Under the “Get up and running” section, select Windows Update, and then hit Run the troubleshooter.
- Wait for a while and then restart your pc.
- Once it starts up, check if the issue is resolved now.
4] Clear the Cache of the Windows Store
If the Windows Store cache is corrupted, they prevent the loading of the Windows Store. In order to fix this issue, you can reset the Windows Store cache and check if it works.
5] Re-register Windows Store apps
In case you’re still facing the store error 0x80072F05, then try re-registering the Windows Store apps as the last resort. You can perform this either by using PowerShell or through the Windows Settings.
Here is how to re-register Windows Store App from PowerShell:
- Open Windows PowerShell with admin right.
- In PowerShell window, type the following command and press Enter:
Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
- After executing the above command, close the window and restart your computer. On starting up your computer, the problem on your device should be fixed now.
