Most Windows users nowadays opt for Bluetooth devices such as speakers, mouse/keyboard, or headset on their PCs. When you use such a device, you need not require using any connecting cable yet you must remain vigilant of the Battery level. There’s no doubt that it’s quite a cumbersome task. However, you may connect your Bluetooth device to Windows PC and check its Battery status.
If you’re concerned about how much battery life is left in your Bluetooth device, Windows 11’s Settings app allows you to easily check the battery life of Bluetooth devices.
In case your device lacks relevant drivers, you won’t be able to view the remaining battery percentage on your Bluetooth device. Visit Windows Update inside Settings, and hit Check for updates. The system will connect itself to Microsoft’s servers and download/install pending updates on your computer.
Why do I check the Bluetooth battery level?
Wireless devices are considered best these days as you don’t require any physical cord to establish charging, audio transfer, etc. However, they require charging from time to time. If this is left unattended, the Bluetooth device will soon be out of battery, and you can’t use it any longer.
Knowing the remaining battery percentage on the Bluetooth device helps us to aptly charge the device. This is to ensure the Bluetooth device remains charged when the need arises. Say, for example, you are using a Wireless Audio device and its battery drains out completely. To avoid such instances from happening, it is crucial to know the Bluetooth Device battery level beforehand.
How to check the Bluetooth Device Battery Level in Windows?
If you are using a Bluetooth device and want to know its battery status or level, connect it to Windows PC, and follow these steps –
- Press Windows key + I to launch Settings.
- Select “Bluetooth and devices” on the left navigation and go to the right pane.
- Head over to the right pane and click “View more devices“.
- All Bluetooth devices that are connected to your PC will now appear.
- In devices like a Bluetooth headset, you may see a percentage next to it.
There’s also a graphical representation of how much battery is drained out or remaining.
Note: If you don’t see a battery gauge, you must be using an older device or it doesn’t support this feature. In that case, check with your device’s documentation on how to see the remaining battery percentage.
