Windows 11 has finally become a reality as opposed to counter-beliefs. The new operating system has brought a new user interface, security enhancements, and dozens of other features. This is not everyone’s cup of tea as it requires becoming an insider and being on an OS that is constantly improvising.
However, when it comes to Windows 11 default wallpapers, everyone wants a little taste of them. Well, if you so desired to have them on your device, this is quite possible without going into installing Windows 11.
Unlike the latest versions of Windows 10, Windows 11 comes pre-loaded with five basic themes. They are Windows (light and dark), Glow, Sunrise, Flow, and Captured Motion. Two of these themes contain wallpapers in the 4K format i.e. 1920*1080 pixels while the remaining ones are still using the UHD formats. Let’s have a look at all these themes and ways to get their wallpapers for your device.

With the release of Windows 11 as an insider, many users don’t want to go for it as this will make their PCs buggy or even more sluggish. However, if you are interested in using the wallpapers that come with Windows 11, read this blogpost in detail –
1. Windows (light and dark)
We all know Windows light is the one that you get after upgrading to Windows 11 OS Build. A dark theme exists as well that displays a flower image in the dark background. See the Snapshot below –
2. Glow
As its name suggests, this theme consists of four images, all portraying a glowing circular shape. Each one of these images resembles a bubble with different background colors.
3. Sunrise
If you are more into having a simple background image, the Sunrise theme is the perfect one and worth applying on Windows 10 PC. All four images show sunrise from different landscapes.
4. Flow
Similar to that of Glow, the Flow theme consists of four images, and all of them depict a pattern in different colors and sizes.
5. Captured Motion
Finally, there is this Captured Motion theme that consists of four images that portray elements in the air with a dark background. See the Captured Motion wallpaper set below –
If you do find any theme interesting and want to set it as background on your PC, download the same from WallpaperHub in any resolution. This site provides Windows 11 default wallpapers in different formats including 4K, 1080p, mobile format, etc.
Imgur too has uploaded all the wallpapers on its webpage with a few extra ones (not provided above). In case you have already switched to Windows 11 operating system and want to open the folder containing these images, use these steps –
- Press WinKey + R to launch the Run dialog.
- Type “%SystemRoot%\web\wallpaper” without quotes and hit Enter.
- The system will then redirect you to the folder where all images lie.
