1] Close Groove App and restart your PC

First of all, give this a try –

Close the Groove application and restart your PC. Doing this will kill the other application and related processes that could have been using the music track. 

2] Run Windows App Troubleshooter

If you are still unable to play music on the Groove app, try running the Windows app troubleshooter. To do so, you may follow these steps –

  • Press Win + I to launch Settings.
  • Click System and then Troubleshoot on the right pane.
  • Click to expand Other troubleshooters and scroll down to the bottom. 
  • Here, you will see the option “Windows Store Apps“.
  • Click Run besides this to initiate the troubleshooting.
